Edgar Roman-Rangel is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and research assistantat the Idiap Research Institute, Switzerland. He received his MS degree in Computer Sciences from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) in 2006. His research interests include multimedia analysis and retrieval, computer vision, and machine learning.

Jean-Marc Odobez is a Senior Researcher at Idiap since 2011 and Maitre d'Enseignement et de Recherche (MER) at EPFL.Between 1996 and 2001, he was Associate Professor atthe University du Maine, France. He has worked for severalyears on the development of statistical modelsfor image representation and segmentation, object recognition,tracking, human activity recognition andmultimedia content analysis. He has published over 20 journalpapers and 80 conference papers and holds several patents on motion analysis. He is the co-founder of Klewel, a company dedicatedto recording and analysis of multimedia presentations.

Daniel Gatica-Perez is Senior Researcher at Idiap Research Institute and Maitre d'Enseignement et de Recherche at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, where he directs the Social Computing group. His research has been funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, the US government, the European Union, and industry. He has served as Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, Image and Vision Computing, Machine Vision and Applications, and the Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments.
