Jie Chen

Jie Chen, born in 1965, received the B.Eng. degree, the M. Eng. degree and the Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering in 1986, 1993 and 2000, respectively, from Beijing Institute of Technology, P. R. China. He was elected for a promoted professor in 1998 and a promoted doctor supervisor in 2000.

From 1989 to 1990, he was a visiting scholar in California State University, U.S.A. From 1996 to 1997, he was a research fellow in school of E&E, University of Birmingham, U.K. Now he is the leader of Education Ministry Key Laboratory of Complex System Intelligent Control and Decision in Beijing Institute of Technology. He has been involved in many important national projects, in charge of nearly 20 research projects, won more than a dozen of scientific and technical prizes, edited three international conference proceedings, and published two books and more than 100 research papers. His main research areas include complex system analyses, multi-object optimization and decision, image processing and pattern recognition, advanced control algorithms, intelligent system construction and control.

Prof. Chen is also an associate editor of Acta Automatica Sinica and Journal of Control Theory & Application, and a special reviewer for IEEE Trans on Automatic Control and Automatica.

Li-hui Zou

Li-hui Zou, born in 1982, received her B.Eng. degree and M. Eng. degree in 2005 and 2007, respectively, from Northeast Forestry University, P. R. China. Now she is pursuing her Ph.D. degree in Beijing Institute of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Jie Chen.

Her main research direction is image processing and pattern recognition. Currently she is more interested in image registration and image mosaic.

Juan Zhang

Juan Zhang, born in 1976, received her B.Eng. degree and PhD degree in automatic control in 1997 and 2000, respectively, from Beijing Institute of Technology, P. R. China. She was elected for a promoted lecturer in 2002 and a promoted master supervisor in 2008.

From 2000 to 2001, she was a visiting scholar in University Karlsruhe, Germany. Now she works at the Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System Laboratory in Beijing Institute of Technology. Her main research interests include complex system identification, pattern recognition, advanced control algorithms, image processing and signal processing.

Li-hua Dou

Li-hua Dou, born in 1961, received the B.Eng. degree, the M. Eng. degree and the Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering in 1983, 1987 and 2002, respectively, from Beijing Institute of Technology, P. R. China. She was elected for a promoted professor in 2000 and a promoted doctor supervisor in 2002.

Now she is the leader of Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System Laboratory in Beijing Institute of Technology. She has been responsible for 7 key research projects, won 7 scientific and technical prizes, and published more than 70 research papers. Her main research areas include image processing and pattern recognition, panoramic vision, multi-sensor information fusion, and robot coordination control.

Prof. Dou is also a committee member of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, and an associate editor of Fire Control & Command Control.
