Visual Mental Imagery Memory Model Based on Weighted Directed Graph

Abstract


Simulation of imagery thinking has important significance for research and development of human intelligent systems. The breakthrough of computer simulation of imagery thinking is the simulation of mental imagery's memory mechanisms. In this study, a visual mental imagery memory model accord with working mechanism of declarative memory has been constructed. The new model has four layers. They are feature layer, hyper column layer, MTL (medial temporal lobe) free neurons layer and imagery concept layer. The design method and function of the model are described in the study. The experiment results demonstrate, the model can extract contour of target effectively and can realize various operation of mental imagery.
